Anyone who has attended Fiesta San Antonio knows how the whole city becomes one crazy party! However, as a Duchess in The Order of the Alamo's Fiesta Court, I was fortunate enough to experience the extravagant, exclusive side of Fiesta. There is a tradition where each duchess's family throws a party in her name, and over the years, they have become increasingly more fabulous, and outrageous! I've seen wonderland themes with "vine people" walking on stilts around giant mushrooms; I've seen acrobats dangling from chandeliers as they pour champagne; and, at all of these events, I've seen glamorous dresses, overflowing open bars, and crazy talented entertainment! This amazing painting isn't a memory or a scene from any party; however, it is a perfect embodiment of the spirit of a fabulous, black-tie Fiesta party!
